Our client is a leading Life insurance firm based in Dublin, committed to providing financial protection and peace of mind to our customers. As a company, they stay at the forefront of industry changes and emerging trends, and we are now seeking an experienced IFRS-17 Director to join their growing team as soon as possible.

Job Overview:

The IFRS-17 Director will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 17 accounting standard across the Life insurance business. The successful candidate will lead a team of actuaries and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, risk management, IT, and business operations, to ensure the successful adoption of IFRS-17.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the implementation of IFRS-17 across the Life insurance business, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with business objectives.
* Manage a team of actuaries based in Dublin responsible for designing and executing actuarial calculations and models required for IFRS-17 compliance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, risk management, IT, and business operations, to ensure the successful adoption of IFRS-17.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators and auditors, to ensure compliance and effective communication.
* Continuously assess and improve the IFRS-17 implementation and maintenance process to increase efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
* Provide regular updates and reports to senior management in Dublin and other locations on the status of the IFRS-17 implementation and related initiatives.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
* Several years of experience in Life insurance with a focus on actuarial work.
* Some experience in reinsurance would be advantageous.
* Strong understanding of IFRS-17 accounting standard and its application to Life insurance products.
* Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of actuaries, preferably in Dublin.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management in Dublin and other locations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
* Relevant professional certifications such as FSA or FCIA.
