Job Title: Assistant Syndicate Accountant

Job Summary: We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Assistant Syndicate Accountant to join our clients team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the syndicate accounting team, assisting with the production of QMA, QMB, and QMR returns, and performing day-to-day accounting tasks. The role will involve working closely with other members of the finance team, as well as underwriters and claims handlers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the production of QMA, QMB, and QMR returns
* Prepare and input accounting journals
* Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
* Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
* Assist with the preparation of the syndicate's business plan and budget
* Support the syndicate accounting team with day-to-day accounting tasks
* Assist with the maintenance of the general ledger and accounting systems
* Liaise with other teams, including underwriting and claims, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data
* Support the syndicate's compliance with Lloyd's reporting requirements
* Provide ad hoc support to the finance team as required
Requirements:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar accounting role within the insurance industry
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* Good understanding of Lloyd's insurance market and regulatory requirements
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively within a team
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
